Maryland Proceeds with Bill Targeting Rifles and Shotguns Contact Members of the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee Today
The Maryland House of Delegates on Monday approved House Bill 786, legislation that directly targets hunters and recreational shooters. While a number of the egregious sections of the bill have been removed (Long Gun Qualification License, seven-day waiting period, one-gun-per-month, etc.), HB 786 still contains language that would prohibit the private transfer and/or loan of a shotgun or rifle.
HB 786 includes a number of poorly written and vague exemptions. Someone thinking they are within the bounds of the law would likely become an unsuspecting criminal. The devil is certainly in the details with HB 786.
