As we have continued to monitor the situation around the country and specifically in Washington, DC, we have decided that our only option is to postpone the Congressional Fly-In. We are actively trying to reschedule for a date later this year that does not conflict with other previously scheduled events.
We did not come to this decision easily as the Fly-In plays a vital role in the industry’s ability to impact priority legislation and regulation. However, with the announcement that a senate staffer has tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus), several members of Congress have opted for self-quarantine, and the decision of the House and Senate Sergeants-at-Arms to temporarily close the Capitol and all House and Senate office buildings to the public, our Fly-In would be ineffective. Furthermore, we do not want to put anyone in our industry at risk of contracting the virus.
NSSF® will inform all attendees of a new date as soon as we have it.
Thank you for your understanding and patience.
Sincerely yours,
Lawrence G. Keane
