Hearing Tuesday on Sunday Hunting Bill in Maryland Please Voice Your Support for SB 293
The Maryland Senate Education, Health, and Environmental Affairs Committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Feb. 12, at 1 p.m. to hear Senate Bill 293. SB 293, introduced by state Sen. Jack Bailey, would authorize the Maryland Department of Natural Resources to allow for migratory birds to be hunted on Sundays during the established hunting season. SB 293 would create more hunting opportunities for people who work during the week, as well as children who are in school five days a week.
NSSF strongly supports repealing antiquated blue laws that prohibit hunting on Sundays. Given today’s demanding schedules, many people only have a chance to hunt on the weekends.
Please contact the Committee chairman, Sen. Paul G. Pinsky, and voice your support for SB 293.
