Rhode Island House Judiciary Committee to Hear Over 15 Anti-Gun Bills Tuesday We Need You to Make Every Effort to Attend
The Rhode Island House Judiciary Committee will have a hearing on Tuesday, March 19, in Room 101 of the State House at about 4:30 p.m. (the rise of the House) on numerous anti-gun bills put forward by Gov. Gina Raimondo and Democratic legislators. Rhode Island already has some of the strictest gun laws in the country, but that is not stopping members from trying to ban the manufacture, sale and possession of all modern sporting rifles in the state along with bans on standard capacity magazines. NSSF urges all hunters, target shooters and gun owners to contact their state representatives to make their feelings known and attend the hearing. We will need a repeat performance of last year’s amazing turnout to defeat these onerous bills again. If this bill passes, law-abiding gun owners will no longer be able to purchase and own the most popular rifle in America. The entire list of legislative proposals will unfortunately do nothing to address violent crime and public safety.
