California Mandatory Retail Bill Hearing Scheduled Contact your legislators today and urge them to vote NO on SB 220
The California Senate Committee on Public Safetyis scheduled to consider SB 220on Tuesday, April 2nd. If passed, SB 220 would create government-mandated standards for how firearms retailers must secure and store their firearms when they are closed for business.
Such a mandate could prohibitively increase the cost of doing business and has the real potential to cause many firearms retailers to go out of business.
While NSSF has continued to work with the bill sponsor to improve the legislation, allowing for more options, NSSF will remain opposed to SB 220 as it creates burdensome, and even some unworkable standards for retailers. Additionally, NSSF remains concerned with localities being able to enforce stricter standards than those proposed by SB 220.
Please join NSSF in opposing this bill. Click hereto contact your Legislators today and contact the committee members below to respectfully urge them to vote "NO" on SB 220 when it comes up for a vote (either committee or floor).
