South Carolina Lawmakers to Consider Hunter Recruitment Bill This Week
Join NSSF in Supporting House Bill 3800

This week, the South Carolina House of Representatives will likely consider hunter-recruitment legislation, House Bill 3800. Sponsored by state Rep. Bobby Cox and strongly supported by NSSF, H 3800 seeks to expand on South Carolina’s already established and successful apprentice hunting license program. Currently, an apprentice hunting license can be purchased once, but as amended in committee, H 3800 would remove the limitation on how many times an apprentice hunter could purchase the license. Such apprentice licenses allow new hunters a “try-before-you-buy” approach and enable them to get in the field under the direct supervision of an experienced mentor. The goal of this program is to have the apprentice hunter complete a hunter education course in the future so that they may hunt on their own.

Please contact your state representative today and respectfully urge him or her to support House Bill 3800. Not sure who represents you in the South Carolina House of Representatives? Use NSSF’s Legislative Action Center. Be sure you scroll down and look for “State Representative” in the results
