Dallas County Amends Order to Classify Firearm-Related Retailers as “Essential”

After firearm and ammunition retailers were left in a state of uncertainty, and at least one Dallas gun shop was directed to close, Dallas County amended its “stay-at-home” order’s list of “essential businesses” to include, “Firearm and ammunition suppliers and retailers for purposes of safety and security.”  NSSF® and firearm retailers had requested the clarification.  Firearm-related businesses should adhere to the social distancing guidelines for essential businesses as detailed in the order. NSSF encourages all retailers to adhere to CDC guidelines, practice social distancing and take appropriate measures to protect the health of their employees and customers.
