Georgia Firearm Businesses - Have You Been Ordered to Close?

As COVID-19 continues its spread, states and localities have begun shutting down businesses deemed “non-essential.” NSSF® has been actively working with elected officials and government agencies at the federal, state and local levels to ensure members of the firearm and ammunition industry are designated as “Essential Businesses” during this pandemic and allowed to remain open.

Officials in Georgia have yet to issue a statewide “Stay at Home” executive order, but some localities within the state have issued their own orders. NSSF efforts were successful in Athens-Clarke County and the City of Rome as our industry members were deemed “Essential Businesses” after retailers were initially ordered to close. These are just some of the many examples across the country in which NSSF has successfully engaged to keep our industry members operational.

If your locality has issued a “Stay at Home” order and required you to cease operations, please reach out to NSSF Director of Government Relations-State Affairs, Trevor Santos, at tsantos@nssf.org.  Please include your name, the name of your business, where your business is located and your contact information. NSSF will continue working on the industry’s behalf in Georgia and around the country.

NSSF urges all members to closely follow CDC guidelines, practice social distancing and take precautions to protect the health of their employees and customers. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates.
