Update: Florida Governor’s Order Supersedes All Local Orders – Firearm Industry Can Remain Open Throughout Florida
Yesterday, NSSF®alerted you to Gov. Gov. DeSantis issued a follow-up order stating Executive Order No. 20-91 “shall supersede any conflicting official action or order issued by local officials in response to COVID-19.”
Gov. DeSantis’ Executive Order No. 20-91 contains an explicit reference to all services detailed in the Department of Homeland Security’s CISA guidance on essential workers. The guidance (as of March 28) includes “workers supporting the operation of firearm or ammunition product manufacturers, retailers, importers, distributors, and shooting ranges.” This means all firearm and ammunition product manufacturers, retailers, distributors, importers and shooting ranges in Florida may remain open for business.
NSSF urges all members to closely follow CDC guidelines, practice social distancing and take precautions to protect the health and safety of their employees and customers.
