VA Governor Allows Northern Virginia to Remain Closed

Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam issued a new executive order this morning relating to COVID-19. Executive Order No. 62, issued on May 12, will give localities in the “Northern Virginia Region” the option to request to remain in “Phase Zero,” instead of moving ahead in the governor’s reopen plan, “Forward Virginia.” Localities opting to remain in “Phase Zero” would therefore continue restricting businesses’ ability to reopen. Both the new executive order, and localities’ ability to stay in “Phase Zero,” remain in effect until 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, May 28, 2020.

Gov. Northam’s new executive order, Executive Order No. 62, only applies to the Northern Virginia Region. Please alert NSSF® to any local restrictions that prevent your firearm business from remaining open, or reopening

NSSF urges all members to comply with the requirements set forth in Executive Order No. 61 and Executive Order No. 62, as well as closely follow CDC guidelines, practice social distancing and take precautions to protect the health of their employees and customers. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as they become available.
