Missouri HB 1068 Protects Firearm and Ammunition Industries from Future Government Closures Please contact Speaker Pro Tem Wiemann’s office
Missouri House Speaker Pro Tem John Wiemann (R-O’Fallon) has introduced HB 1068 to ensure that no future government business closure directives will “prohibit, restrict, or reduce the operation of a firearm business.” This protection is justified in the bill due to the fact that “the right to keep and bear arms is a fundamental right.”
The term “firearm business” is defined as “any business engaged in the manufacturing, distributing, selling, or training for the use of firearms or ammunition.” It also explicitly includes shooting ranges.
Please contact Speaker Pro Tem Wiemann’s office at (573) 751-2176 to express your appreciation for his willingness to take the lead in designating the firearm and ammunition industries as “essential.” Additionally, please contact your state representative and ask that he or she strongly support HB 1068.
