West Virginia Alert: House to Vote on Bill to Protect Firearm Industry During Declared State of Emergency Contact Your Delegates in Support of SB 458
The West Virginia House of Delegates is expected to consider and vote on legislation that will provide protections for firearm industry businesses and law-abiding gun owners during a declared state of emergency. Senate Bill 458 would prevent state agencies, municipalities and elected or appointed officials or employees from prohibiting or restricting the lawful sale, possession, use, carrying, transfer, transportation, etc. of any firearm, ammunition or components during a federally or state declared state of emergency.
Additionally, SB 458 would prohibit the government, state or locality from closing or limiting operational hours for any business engaged in the lawful sale or servicing of any firearms, ammunition and components, unless the same restriction applied to all forms of commerce within that jurisdiction. Lastly, SB 458 would also prevent the government from closing or limiting the operating hours of any lawful shooting range.
