Urgent Washington State Alert: ‘Assault Weapons’ Ban Hearing Scheduled
NSSF needs your help opposing HB 1240 and other bills!

Your NSSF® Government Relations team been monitoring and fighting egregious bills this session in Washington State. We’ve learned the Senate Committee on Law and Justice will be holding a hearing on two bills designed to erode Washingtonians Second Amendment rights and fundamentally alter the firearm industry in the Evergreen State. On Thursday, March 23, the following bills will be heard:

HB 1240 – if passed, this bill would ban the manufacture, sale, purchase and/or transfer of so-called “assault rifles.”

HB 1143 – if passed, this bill would create an onerous permit-to-purchase requirement for all firearm sales in the state.

Over the past few legislative cycles in Washington State, the firearm industry has been successful in narrowly stopping multiple efforts by the legislature to ban Modern Sporting Rifles (MSRs). But given the results of the 2022 election, the threat is very real it could pass this time.

NSSF needs you to testify and / or submit written testimony against these bills!
