ATF Will Post Results of Compliance Inspections of Federal Firearms Licensees
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) informed NSSF this afternoon that it will “begin posting FFL data that includes inspections results for FFL revocations or where an FFL has voluntarily ceased operations following an inspection in which a qualifying violation was cited. The data will be made public on or around 3pm today.
NSSF® is lodging its strong objection with ATF to its new policy of violating the privacy rights of FFLs who have not had their license revoked or had an opportunity to have a court determine the validity a revocation as is their right under the law. This new “name and shame” policy is part of President Biden’s “zero tolerance” ongoing attack on our industry to shut down as many FFLs as possible over minor paperwork violations. |
