ACT NOW: Urge Your State Rep To Oppose Anti-Traditional Ammo Amendment
Contact your state representative TODAY

On Tuesday, an anti-traditional ammunition amendment (HF2310A2) was added to the Minnesota House Environmental Omnibus bill. Yesterday, the House Environment and Natural Resources Finance and Policy Committee voted to approve the omnibus bill with this amendment in place. Specifically, the amendment would ban the use of “nontoxic” shot for “taking small game” on “wildlife management areas in the farmland zone.” The farmland zone encompasses about half of the state.

Minnesota Democrats (DFLs) have tried to pass various lead ammo bans in recent years, but a Republican majority in the Senate always prevented those bans from becoming law. Now, DFLs have the majority in both the House and the Senate, so it is more important than ever that the Minnesota firearm industry, hunters, and shooters make their voices heard in opposition to this misguided amendment.

The use of traditional (lead) ammunition has had no negative effect on wildlife populations. This is an anti-science, political amendment written by anti-hunting advocates that would have a detrimental impact on hunters in Minnesota.

Contact your state representative TODAY to urge them to oppose this anti-hunter amendment when brought to the floor.
