Urgent NSSF® Missouri Alert: Night Hunting Proposal Comments Needed Before August
The Missouri Department of Conservation Commission is currently considering a regulatory change that will dramatically expand hunting opportunities in The Show Me State to help alleviate coyote overpopulation impacts in the state through expanded night hunting.
The proposed regulation would generally expand the allowed use of night vision and thermal optics for coyote hunting from the current two-month period (February 1 through March 31) to a nine-month period (January 1 through September 30).
Pro-hunting and pro-conservation advocates for the change have reported that the Commission considered a similar proposal in the past but did not adopt it because there was not “sufficient” public input in favor of the regulation – that is, in favor of expanding the window of allowable use of night vision and thermal optics.
NSSF needs your help. Every additional public comment in support of the expanded opportunity will make a significant difference.
