VA Governor Amends Latest COVID-19 Order, Allowing More Localities to Remain Closed
Earlier this week, NSSF®alerted you to Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam’s latest executive order, Executive Order No. 62, which allows the Northern Virginia Region to request to remain in “Phase Zero,” instead of moving forward in the Governor’s reopen plan, “Forward Virginia.” This Order allows those localities to require indoor shooting ranges, among other businesses, to remain closed. On Thursday, May 14, Gov. Northam amended Executive Order No. 62 to include the City of Richmond and Accomack County.
The amended Executive Order will affect indoor shooting ranges and their ability to reopen. Please alert NSSF to any local restrictions that prevent your firearm business from remaining open, or reopening.
NSSF urges all members to comply with the requirements set forth in Executive Order No. 61 and amended Executive Order No. 62, as well as closely follow CDC guidelines, practice social distancing and take precautions to protect the health of their employees and customers.
We will continue to monitor the situation and provide further updates as they become available.
